Dolen, Kovatchevitza and Leshten are villages, situated in the far western part of the Rhodope Mountains.

The Village of Dolen is situated in the Satovcha settlement system. It is huddled in the picturesque valley of the same name river on the southern slopes of the Aklisa ridge. The village comprises of old and new part. It is the old part that has preserved the style a way of life in Bulgaria in the 17-th century. The architecture of Dolen is distinctive and original .It cannot be described, it has to be seen. The two-three storey houses with oriels of the second and third floors, above narrow cobblestone streets are unique architectural monuments. The old church in the centre of the village was built according to the requirements of the Turkish administration, it should not stand out high and it was dug into the lower part of the village, close to the river. That architectural fairy tail, together with the wonderful nature –the oval “soft” heights of the Rhodope mountain ,fragrant pine and beech woods, the mild mountain climate and the specific atmosphere ,combined with the spirit of the village create a peculiar magic….It brings you centuries back and you feel… as if the time there has stopped forever…

• Mineral water baths at the village of Ognianovo – 7 km
• Town of Gotse Delchev, where You can visit the history museum with its rich archeological and ethnographic expositions. The ruins of the roman town of Nikopolis ad Nestum (2nd century) are also very close - 18 km
• The winter resort - Bansko - 40 km
